Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd will provide you with certified, licenced, insured and bonded security guards who have all been screened to ensure that they meet the standards of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) of South Africa.
Our pre-employment background investigation is all-encompassing and stringent. In addition, our personnel all undergo a battery of aptitude tests, a five-panel drug screening and extensive in-service training which includes criminal law and police-style defensive tactics.
We employ highly skilled and experienced supervisory personnel to ensure strict adherence to our orders and your rules, regulations and ordinances. Supervisors are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for your convenience and will regularly make spot checks. It is our belief that, in order to ensure the best quality of service, we must keep close relationships with both our clients and our staff.
All our security guards/sites are equipped with two-way radios or the equivalent, to ensure constant communication with our management team.
Each and every security guard will regularly receive in-service training regarding your specific site to further enhance the protection we provide.

Applicant Screening
The security professionalism that we bring to your environment begins long before you see our security guards. The Board of Directors at Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd resolved to make the recruitment and training of our personnel key to our success. We conduct recruitment and hiring initiatives on a regular basis. Successful applicants must comply with the regulations of the South African Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
Training
Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd conducts training that exceeds many of our competitor’s programmes. The knowledge of our management team is passed on to our new employees. In addition to the state mandated certification courses, our personnel must successfully attend 40 hour Defensive Tactics Training and Patrol Techniques Training.
Approach
Our uniformed security guards are encouraged to be an approachable source of information to patrons, residents and employees in line with the community policing model. Letting communities know that we are there for them generates a feeling of community safety.
Patrols
The correct posting of our security guards is key to ensuring that we can confidently describe the implementation of our security guard programme as authentic. Our security guards are trained to make visible foot patrols throughout their posts in undetermined patterns. We encourage our personnel to interact with your patrons and employees in addition to standing at a fixed post.
Strategic Approach
Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd has developed a theory of “Enforcement through Reinforcement”. The senior management, with several decades of security and law enforcement experience amongst them, has realised that the prevention of crime can be accomplished by utilising tactical approaches. The art of negotiation is commonplace in our organisation and has often been effective in neutralising volatile situations.
Uniforms
Our uniformed security guards are outfitted with police-type uniforms. Our corporate general orders require that our personnel keep their uniforms ironed and clean at all times. Their shoes are polished military-style and men are required to be clean-shaven with neat haircuts. Our female officers are held to the same standard. We pride ourselves on the appearance of our personnel as they are representing our company on your premises.
Supervision
Our supervisory personnel are required to possess a minimum of four years security enforcement experience. Our supervisors are charged with scheduling and assigning security posts, as well as acting as liaison points between the Board of Directors and our clients. Supervisory personnel are available to our clients 24 hours daily in order to maintain quality assurance and customer service on behalf of Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd.

Intruder Defence (Pty) Ltd stands above our competitors by providing an open line of communication with our clientele 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Our offices are staffed around the clock with customer service representatives for your convenience. While many of our competitors work from their homes, our agency runs fully functional offices. The customer service representatives we employ are not salespeople – they are security professionals. Desk personnel are utilised as watch commanders and are delegated full authority to make supervisory decisions.
